Last night I had the pleasure of watching Rihanna's interview on ABC's 20/20. In the interview she recounts the events of February 7Th as stemming form a text message from Chris' ex-girlfriend. After which the story seems to get a tab bit cloudy. According to Ri-Ri she was grilling him about the text and refused to let the issue go. Then at some point Chris unleashes his inner Ike Turner on her. According to her he punched her, bite he fingers, bite her ear, blacked her eye, and had her in the head lock.
Now I have a couple of questions of my own that I would like to pose to Rihanna because I'm just having a hard time swallowing this. So just to make sure everyone is clear on this Chris is driving the car, a stick shift mind you, and somehow manages to choke you, bite you, and go full fledged ham. All of this over a text message. There is no way in hell I'm convinced. She is lying through her teeth. I don't know what James Bond movie that she is reliving the events of that night through but she and a toilet have a lot in common. Bulls*it. I mean let's be real he managed to do all this while operating a motor vehicle. That would add stunt driver to his growing titles. Chris Brown the singing, dancing, beat-a-woman while stunt driving teen sensation. Ha.
Rihanna was laying it on thick in the interview and at one point she tried to fake some tears that never came. The same trick I used on my parents when I was trying to get money. She even said how at one point he threw her phone out of the window of the moving car. WTF? That strikes me as odd because the last time I checked the police didn't take her to the hospital, she called her people who picked her up and they later went to the hospital. Now unless she keeps carrier pigeons in her purse I'm not buying it.
The interview was a sham and a fraud, the questions were clearly pre-screened and her answers rehearsed. The whole thing gave me an insight into the petty mind that is a celebrity and an immature one at that. She claims that at the end of the day she wants to be a good role model for women of abuse and wants to encourage girls to get out of situations like that.... I think its a shame that she is trying to make herself a poster child for domestic violence when she is not a proper candidate. Countless times before have pictures and stories surfaced of her swinging on him and causing scenes and she expects us to believe this. NEGATIVE.
I think her and Chris had what I call a ghetto relationship or a dysfunctional relationship a.k.a love. I have known the occasional couple or two that have a strange relationship where they are hugged up deep in love one minute and the next somebody's clothes are in the tub taking a bleach bath or somebody's tires are flat and yes even the occasional physical confrontation. Like the first time my girlfriend slapped me for calling her out of her name, my face went one way and the plate of food went the other. Love is ugly and nothing like Cinderella and the rest of that storybook foolishness that we are feed as kids. Real love hurts and is complicated especially when your young or when it's your first time being in love. The last time I checked there is no manual that you can follow that preps you for the things that come up in a relationship. You only know how you will react when presented with certain situations. That's life, a string of unplanned events and occurrences and how you deal with them.
I would have much rather her interview been like his where out of respect for his and her privacy he didn't go into details and left it at that. Instead of taking the high road, she choose to be 63779 (messy, for those that don't know)and air out dirty laundry and alter facts. Another interesting tidbit that I find funny. After the alleged beating TMZ managed to get her photo out and all over the world in a matter of hours however, Chris was handcuffed and booked and we have yet to see his mugshot 8 months later. I wonder why... B/c he probably was bruised up and scarred by her. But she still maintains that she didn't do anything but confront him about a text. Lies and fairy tales. If they can get mug shoots of James Brown, Michael Jackson, Kimora Lee, and countless other celebrities when they are booked why is this one so hard to come by?
How strange it is that the incident happened in Feb. 7 and she is just now deciding to talk about it mere weeks before her album drops. Are you really all that surprised? To me it seemed as another one of many publicity stunts that artists do to hype up upcoming albums. All I know is that I hope she has an umbrella made of titanium because when the sh*tstorm of karma rains down on her it won't be pretty.
Morel of the story: Abuse is not cool not matter what you gender. Fellas, I know she gotta smart mouth or whatever and even if she throws the 1st blow walk away b/c when the police get there you will be getting a new pair of matching bracelets and they won't be from Tiffany & Co. Ladies don't think just because your a female you have a liscence to swing. Remember everyone has limits and just because you think he should "man up" and allow you to keep mushing the side of his head or take those slaps. He may one day get fed up and you may too find yourself in a Rihanna type of situation. To everyone out there keep your hands to yourself an if you raise ya hand it better be to ask a question.
If you missed the interview check it out below and tell me what you think.
